March 10, Shanghai, China — JCET Shanghai Automotive Co., Ltd. (JSAC), JCET Group’s dedicated chip packaging and testing facility for automotive electronics and robotics applications, held an opening ceremony in Lingang Special Area of Shanghai, marking the start of official operations.

Representatives and partners from the China Semiconductor Industry Association, automotive electronics, robotics, fabless, foundries, semiconductor materials and equipment, as well as financial institutions attended the event to witness the milestone.

As a key strategic expansion of JCET’s automotive electronics footprint, JCET Shanghai Automotive Co., Ltd. is building a high-reliability, high-consistency manufacturing capability for automotive-grade chips, with a focus on core applications including intelligent driving, body and chassis control, and powertrain and energy management. The facility’s launch represents a meaningful step forward for high-standard, high-performance automotive chip packaging and testing ecosystem in China.

Smart vehicles and intelligent robots share a strong technological foundation at both the chip and system levels. In essence, both are intelligent agents operating in the physical world, and their chips have significant commonality in computing, integration density, and applications. In line with this trend, JCET Shanghai Automotive Co., Ltd. is strengthening its automotive-grade packaging and testing capabilities while also establishing technical readiness to support robotics chips for control, sensing, and other functions.

The company has embedded smart manufacturing across its operations, combining automated production lines with intelligent logistics and end-to-end traceability to enable tighter, more granular control of the manufacturing process. It also applies AI to real-time production monitoring, quality analytics, and defect detection, driving continuous improvements in yield and overall operational efficiency.
